RED BULL AIR RACES

Red Bull Air Race at LongleatSome of the Scouts and Leaders recently took a trip to Longleat in Wiltshire setting off at 4 am so they could arrive for the opening and viewing of the pit lanes.  The crowds where there but we got a peek.

Unfortunately due to bad weather conditions the planes did not fly so the race was cancelled.  But everyone got the chance to have a go on the new Microsoft X flight simulator.

We caught up briefly with the National Air Activities advisor Chris Shaw whilst attempting to cross a bridge on foot for 2 hours (Gridlock in both directions)

Scouts intended to stay on overnight camp at Round wood Scout Campsite nearby but as we had been rained on all day and disappointed that the flying had been cancelled we all decided to travel back to Southport that evening.

We all had good fun on the day and know when taking part in Air activities that the weather is always the important factor of the day, in the past we have always been lucky so we all look forward to our next activity.
